Nursery Feature | Jack's Gender Neutral Nursery
Posted on 17 July 2015
We love to pack orders and ship them out to families who are anticipating the arrival of their new baby! Our swaddles are traveling all across the country (and beyond!) with the hope that they will make baby's transition home a smooth one. We don't always get to see the next chapter of the story for our customers, but with our Feature Friday series we will take a look into some of the homes that XOve gets to be a part of.
We thought it was only fitting to kick off the series with a look inside Jack's nursery. We loved the idea of waiting to find out if we were having a boy or a girl so when it came to the nursery we knew neutral was the way to go. I love the way the nursery turned out and there are a few very special pieces that make the simplicity of the room extra special.
I wanted to incorporate pieces that would be meaningful to Jack as well as to us, as first-time parents. Small reminders that would make those early morning feedings just a little sweeter or make the many hours spent in the nursery that much more comforting. A silver rattle that I was given as a newborn was passed down to Jack and now has a new home in his room. My grandfather wrote a quick note to my grandmother one morning as she took care of me and my mom was smart enough to save it. This was the first piece of inspiration I had for the nursery and knew it had to be framed where I could see it every day. I read his simple words every morning and tell Jack about how much his Papa Watkins would have loved to meet him. Donnie's childhood blocks were cleaned up and added to Jack's toys. Little things in corners here and there that mean so much to us and will, hopefully, be things that mean a lot to Jack as well.
We hope you enjoy the Feature Friday series and I can't wait to share some personal looks at XOve babies at home after those packages are unwrapped. Stay tuned!
XO,
Bethany
